Bratislava surprised me in a most interesting way. It’s a capital city, but it feels more like a charming riverside town, with several colorful streets, cozy cafes, and an imposing castle perched on a hill overlooking it and the Danube. I really enjoyed how easy-going it felt compared to exploring most other European capitals. Bratislava offers the kind of pace you can wander without a plan and still stumble upon something fascinating.
The Old Town is both charming and commanding, a perfect combination to capture some truly dramatic photos. One fun detail is that it’s the only capital city in the world bordering two countries, Austria and Hungary, making it a perfect stop for travelers exploring Central Europe. It’s definitely worth a couple of days of your time!
