California Sunsets and Beaches

The beaches of California are both diverse and beautiful. Some have soft white sand, others have small pebbles, and in the far north the beaches can be strewn with driftwood and its sand a dark greyish color.

Whereas the beaches can be lovely, it’s the California sunsets that are the true showstoppers. To me, there is nothing quite like a powerful sunset. It quietly fills your soul with peace and your mind with awe. I’ve seen hundreds of sunsets from my native Los Angeles. Some are stunning, some are simple with not a cloud in sight. And then some are haunting, for the sun only turns red when smoke is in the air. Most of these photos are my own and some were taken by my Dad but all of them are very real and true to color.
